Church Services
In this parish, we have developed a variety of different services. We have a couple of services a month using the original prayer book because the traditional format, with its poetic language, is still attractive to many people. We also hold modern services of Holy Communion and Morning and Evening Prayer. There are also occasional services that don’t follow a rigid pattern, ranging from quiet and contemplative, to ‘songs of praise’ type when we sing more contemporary worship songs.
We have Junior Church at Throckley twice a month and on the second Sunday of the month we have services at St Michael’s and St Mary’s Churches that are particularly suited to people of all ages.
Within our pattern of services, there is room for those with particular preferences and for those who want to try something different and, always, there is a welcome waiting at the door for anyone who comes along.
If you are interested in being part of church life in the parish and are not sure which service would be best for you then please contact a member of clergy and they will be happy to help you choose the service most suited to your needs.
